Privacy Policy
This is a plain-English summary of how we handle your information. It is not a substitute for legal advice and we are an early-stage UK company, not a law firm. If something here is unclear, email hello@lunchbreakclub.co.uk and we will explain.
Who we are
Lunch Break Club Ltd ("we", "us") is a private limited company in England & Wales. We run lunchbreakclub.co.uk and a small set of related tools. The data controller is Lunch Break Club Ltd. You can reach us at hello@lunchbreakclub.co.uk.
What we collect
- Tool inputs. When you use a planner or game, your answers run in your browser. If you tick the optional "AI assist" box, we send those answers to our server and on to a model provider for that one request only. We don't store the inputs after the response is generated.
- Account data. If you create an account, we store your email and a session token. If you buy Pro, we also store the Stripe customer ID and subscription status. We don't store payment card data — Stripe does that.
- Anonymised usage events. We log a small set of event names (e.g. page_view, tool_complete) to understand which tools people find useful. These events do not include your name, email, or tool answers. See the Cookie Notice for the full list.
- Email opt-ins. If you tick the "Monday agenda" or join the waitlist, we keep the email you give us, an optional name, and an optional one-line note about what would make Pro worth it for you. The form is first-party (it posts to lunchbreakclub.co.uk; we no longer use a Google Form for this) and the data is stored in our Cloudflare key-value store. We send what you signed up for. Nothing more.
What we don't collect
No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers. No fingerprinting. No selling of data. We don't read your calendar — calendar exports are generated in your browser and only sent to Google when you click "Add to Google Calendar".
Location lookups (Walk Finder & Lunch Randomiser)
If you share your location with the Walk Finder or Lunch Randomiser, we send the lat/lng to Google Places (and, for the Walk Finder, to Wikipedia) for that single request, to fetch nearby places and a public history snippet. We don't store your coordinates. The lookup runs on our server so the Google API key stays secret.
Why we collect it
- To run the service you asked for (planners, games, AI assist).
- To take your money safely if you buy Pro (via Stripe).
- To improve the tools (anonymised event counts).
- To send you the things you opted in to.
Lawful bases under UK GDPR: contract (paid features), legitimate interests (basic service operation, anonymised usage measurement), and consent (email opt-ins, AI assist toggle).
Where it lives
Most processing happens on Cloudflare's edge network. Stripe processes payments. If we use a model provider for AI assist, your one-off request goes there for that response only. We do not move your data outside standard UK/EU/US adequacy or appropriate-safeguard arrangements.
How long we keep things
- Tool inputs: not stored after the response is returned.
- Account email and Pro status: while your account exists, plus a short period for accounting.
- Anonymised events: up to 30 days.
- Feedback notes: up to 90 days.
- Email opt-ins: up to 12 months from opt-in, or until you ask us to remove you.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Email hello@lunchbreakclub.co.uk. If you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes
We will update this page when things change. If we change something material we will say so on the homepage or by email if you have an account.
